BACKSTORY:
This song was written in 2005 and is performed in honor of all of America's "Greatest Generation" fallen heroes and veterans – especially for two WWII combat veterans: brothers David W. Gathman (U.S. Navy, Pacific Theatre Solomon Islands) and Robert F. Gathman (U.S. 3rd Army, Patton's March Across Europe); as well as "The Latest Generation" of America's combat veterans – especially, Aaron B. Taylor (U.S. Navy, Persian Gulf War) and Thomas C. Gathman (U.S. Marine Corps, The Iraq War).
